Every dog is different so it really si not useful to compare your dog to anyother puppies, but those that are in the same litter. I have a six month old male that weighs aroun 53 lbs. I keep him lean. His brother is about 57 lbs and on the chubbier side. Look at your dog from the side, and you should see a tuck for his tummy, from the top he should have a waist. Also feel the base of the tail (stub) and teh rib cage. The ribs should not be visible, but easily felt under a slight layer of fat. Using these tests will help keep your dog at a healthy weight and growth rate.

Don't worry . Your pup's only 6 months , it shouldn't be anywhere near adult wieght for quite some time yet . The breed standard doesn't have a required wieght . It's all about height and build . Some books list a "typical" adult wieght though every dog is different ( just like us people ) .
Keep him lean and let good diet , appropriate excercise and genetics show you what he'll be .

Have fun with your pup !!!
