Outside in the Pen

Bucky eats outside in his pen with someone in attendance to keep him company while he "dines" :) - Lisa (Bucky's Mom)

All five of ours are fed outside, in the barn where their indoor/outdoor kennels are situated. We have a feeding stand that is about 8 inches tall, it has circles cut into it for six bowls.

The girls all eat, about 8 inches apart from each other, off of this stand. It makes the cutest picture......all those little black and tan butts looking at you when they are eating!

I agree with damp......the dogs need to know that outside is as important (and as fun) as inside is. They need to know that if it is cold, snowing, sleeting, raining, hot, mild or perfect weather, that outside is just fine and that they can deal with whatever I ask them to do when we are outside. Our pups start getting fed outside as soon as they turn 6 weeks of age.

Most often they both eat in the kitchen.

Sometimes, on a nice day, I'll feed one or both on the deck. But it's for no other reason than to let them enjoy the day.

Claus and Nikki are inside diners - they both have their bowls in the kitchen dining area - each has their own corner. Hunter (the cat) rules the actual kitchen area. Unless Nikki is trying to sneak the cat food.:D

I'll see about doing that this weekend. I've only got four at home, the other is out being bred......we'll see what we can get for a photo! It is pretty cute.

Skip made me think for a minute. If its tracking night Disel eats his dinner off the ground (I use his kibble to bait the track). If it is OB night then he eats out of my hands. :)

Both Lucky and Kodi eat in the kitchen, opposite from eachother. It is funny....Lucky takes her time....sometimes taking a mouth full to the living room and eating it piece by piece. Kodi is like an unfeed monster, smacking, taking huge mouth fulls...he finishes in about 1 minute flat....!!

My dogs eat at the kitchen, with their own bowl side by side, if one has finished, they will go to the living room or backyard, nobody would eat other's left over and I never let them to exchange their bowls. Since our home is tiny and small, if we have lots of guests, the dogs will have to eat at the back terrace.

I don't feed in the kitchen since we have an small ant problem from time to time in the summer. I have a large family room, carpeted, where Makita and I spend alot of our "indoor" time, it is also kind of her room as far as that is where she likes to lay by the patio door all day while I am at work on her blanket and watch the outside life.

So her water bowl is always out, and food gets eaten before I leave and then at nite again. She will not eat if I am not there, and sitting down. She likes to keep tabs on me to make sure I'm safe before she chows down.

Then I just pick up the bowl and keep out water. I also keep a bowl of water in the hallway because our house gets hot especially at nite time, in the winter with the heat on.

Outside most of the time - I also feed raw and don't want stray animal parts getting left on the floor.
Sometimes in the kitchen - there's an old washable rug on the floor and they know to eat on the rug only.

Much of the time Cooper eats his food in midair and it never touches the ground. The other two are much more deliberate!

First thing in the morning around 7:00, Dru goes out the bathroom and then gets her breakfast.

Someone is always out there with her. I just hate for someone to dine alone. :D

Like Robert Redford, always inviting the solotary diner to his table, much to his family's dismay. :D

In the morning the puppies have breakfast outside, lunch is served in the kitchen side by side from their own bowls and dinner is usually in the form of reward for OB.The jack mackerl is always fed out side! Man does that fish smell They always manage to chew bones on my carpet, so I bought them their own big rug.
