Is He Marking?

I have done a search through these pages and read up on marking but didnt come accross quite what i was looking for.

We are currently potty training our 13 week old male and it is going well, but he does have accidents or are they accidents? he will stop and pee on the carpet but it is like a twinkle just really light is he peeing or marking? when they mark to they scratch, have seen indy do it once in our front yard it was quite classic she growled while she did it and everything she looked very staunch big silly that she is... so what do u think.. i clean up any messes immediately do help get rid of the smell... any thoughts

Oh - I think I posted to your other question that it might be marking, but I was thinking your pup was much older! :o

He just needs a refresher course in potty training - at the top of the training forum there's a GREAT sticky on puppy potty training.

BTW, they don't always do the back-scratching thing when they mark, just when they need to be particularly emphatic, I guess!

He is just having an accident on the rug. Now you need to make sure you really clean up that spot and get all the odor out. If even the slightest odor still remains, that will attract him back to that area to go again. Good luck with him.
