We pitch it over the fence!!! :D

We're fortunate that we own a strip of woods behind the dog pen, so I guess we have a built-in organic plan. Seems like we talked about this not too long ago, but I don't remember if anyone had a solution.

I do remember mentioning that I have a customer with 19 mastiffs! Don't know how she handles it either.

We bag it and put it in a special trash can. Then it goes out with our regular trash. I am sure that our trashmen love us ! ;)

But if you want a more organic solution, take a look at the Doggie Dooley. It works like a home septic system by using enzyme and bacteria action to reduce pet waste into a ground absorbing liquid that does not harm the environment. Operates similarly to a septic tank. Just drop in waste, and add water and digester, and wait for the digester to work. It is supposed to be ideal for most soils, except clay.

Do a search for Doggie Dooley and you will find about a thousand places that sell them.

I do absolutely nothing about it or with it. I do encourage her to go into the wooded area of our fenced in 2 acres but sometime she does go on the part that I keep mowed back but since she's on a raw diet, her stool is very compact and turns into like a grey chalky powder that just gets washed away with the next rain.

I make a special dish for my neighbors that allow their cats to run the neighborhood and use my flower bed as their own personal litter boxes. They think its meatloaf;) :p KIDDING!! :D :D :D

Pet waste, dog/ cat does not make usable compost. Your animal's diet determines how fast it breaks down. I bag mine up in a heavy duty garbage bag and toss it in the dumpster with my normal garbage. I save coffee grounds and egg shells for my compost pile:)

I used to have something like a Doggie Dooley, except it was one you buried in the ground. I got it from a camping/hunting supply store. As far as I know, it worked just fine - that was a rental house I had years ago, and I wasn't about to dig it up & take it with me. It was quite inexpensive.

Now I just bag it up securely, like Samantha does, & it goes out with the trash.

Out with the trash for me too... except we don't always bag it... just dump the poop bucket into the bigger trash the morning of trash pick-up... Sounds gross... I think we better change that!

As said in earlier post... not good for compost.

We just bag it & put it in a seperate garbage can which is around the side of the house. Then on garbage day we take the big bag out & put it with our other bags....

Larry, My opinion of you just keeps growing and growing:D :D I have returned the neighbor's dog gifts to them on a shovel to their front yard,I like your style!Kind of gives a whole new meaning to poo poo platter *ROTF*Just today I was walking Ozzy at the park and some lady was walking her foo foo poodle mix fluff ball about 100 yards ahead of me, Off leash! she sat and watched her dog poop ON the walking path and just walked on after foo foo was done. I always carry extra bags with me, so I scooped up her poo and ran up to her saying "excuse me Ma'am I think you forgot this, I handed her the bag and she says" Oh ? that's not mine... I smiled and said, No but it belongs to your dog. She took the bag and looked inside, It was everything I could do not to bust out laughing. The look on her face was priceless.I politely told her there are dispensers with bags in them and they are free, and was in the process of explaining how parvo gets transmitted when she got very rude and basically told me where to go I'd like to get my hands on HER grill *L*

With my 6 big dogs, we thought about the doggie septic systems - but we would need several :(

SO - we have a "special" garbage can in the yard (with a LID) and I scoop at least 2x a day. Then once a week we just throw the poop bag out with the normal trash.

Its works well.

I also spray my yard down with fabric softener at least 2 x a week to keep the doggie smell down. I do this with one of those fertilizer sprayers that you connect to your garden hose. Works like a charm :)

I had posted about this a few months ago and took the suggestion of a seperate can.
2.5 gallon locking lid can from Home depot cost just a few dollars. I put a plastic trash bag in it, pick up poop once or twice a day and throw the bag out on trash day. I keep the can at the back corner of the fence and the only smell comes from me making the daily dog deposits. Good Luck.
