my new baby

I have a pic, but cannot convert it yet! will try on Weds.

My new boy Max, 2 yrs old rescue is awesome!

Saturday night, with just a glance, the dog moved exactly to the spot my brother wanted him to move too! Just like our sweet Sasha who passed away a few years ago! I 'm working on using non-verbals as well as vocal training. This was just a one-off show off session, hehe. Wanted to show off my new baby to the family.

This guy is awesome!

As for training:
Nice leash manners ( on pincher, choke chain has no effect as yet)
sit
come

*working on paw & stay.

But the first 36 hours have been wonderful!

My little girl Athena loves him and they play so nicely together! She was submissive to my brother's rott, so I had hoped the same would be true here & so far it has been.

God Bless the People who run no kill shelters! they really have brightened my home up with this lovely gent!

Special thanks to Tricia ( Forsyth Rescue) and Jane ( Happy Puppy Fat Cat Boarding in Dawsonville)

He only had 1 "accident" ( marking) so far, but I have been taking him outside every hour or within 20 minutes of drinking.

Thansk to all the wonderful posts here. I usually just browse the forums daily, soaking up the knowledge. But, it has really helped me understand my rotts!

Congratulations on the new addition. :) Remember to give him a couple of weeks to reacclimate himself, get used to new sights and sounds, people before you start doing a lot of obedience. Spend the first few weeks just getting to know one another and ease in some obedience commands here and there. A sit, positive things. (Probably what you are doing so far - just yakking this evening.)

Enjoy him and have fun!
