| Congratulations! I was waiting to get my new puppy (Cooper, almost 3 years ago) while my sister was pregnant - we joked that I was sort of like pregnant along with her, waiting for my "baby" to come home. :)
I brought Cooper home when I had a resident grumpy old female dog, who firmly taught him appropriate respect. :) Your female may not be old enough to sensibly lay down the law, so I would supervise when they are together and not leave them alone...you don't want your new pup to bond too closely with your female anyhow. Lots of separate interaction with human family members...
Also be aware, but don't necessarily freak out if your female lays into the pup once in a while. Cooper sounded like Phoebe was killing him a few times (before he learned proper respect) but she never hurt him, just scared the bejesus out of his rambunctious little butt. I assume it was good for him - he tends to be pretty respectful around older female dogs to this day! Just don't let any real bullying go on, & don't let puppy pester female too much.
Of course you MUST post cute puppy pictures. :)
