Talk to the butt!

OK this is a new behavior, can anyone shed some light on what it means?? Ozzy has started turning himself into the shape of a "C" every time he sees me, or gets excited that he might get to go somewhere or have a treat, with his butt kind of toward me, but also looking at me at the same time, his nub just a wagging. *L*:D
He kind of backs up toward me and turns in a counter clock wise circle. It's hysterical,I crack up every time he assumes this position, I will take a picture and post it in picture this thread tomorrow.
Does this mean something in " dog language"?Or is he just asking me if his butt looks big? LOL

Me too!

My Sheba does this as well!! Since a pup she has been behaving this way. I usually give her belly a rub, which does nothing to discourage her doing this! i would be interested to know if anyone knows why. Our older Rottie has never done this. We have had Sheba since she was a puppy, Katie we got when she was 3 yrs old.

Oh, and in Sheba's case, her bum does look big!:D

"Hello, nice to meet/see you, now, scratch my butt!" is what I usually think when the dogs do this...

It's a dog language way of presenting a favorite place to be scritched/scratched/brushed/petted :D

Ben doesn't do it as much as Cheyanne and Baby do it. When brushing either they turn to 'watch'...I sometimes end up scritching behind an ear while also scritching or brushing the rest of the dog:) .

Mine does this when I'm on the toilet, a perfect "c" shape invites killer butt rubbs.

Too funny

My Daisy does the same exact thing. I agree...it is totally hysterical. And here I thought Daisy was the only one who behaved this way. Guess not!!! :D It is nice to know that my dog isn't the only one.

Knuckles does this sometimes, but my Yorkie does it every time I come home. We call him the "comma dog". Usually a request for a butt scratch.

Now don't tell me! You didn't know butt scratching was a number one priorities with Rotties? My goodness! It should be amoung the first things mentioned, along with intelegence, loyalty and farting! It ranks #2 to the "happy Rottie dance" when they bounce all over the livingroom as you get home.
