Catnip

My new baby Indy has a thing for the cat toys, she has her own which she plays with but she sneaks up to the cats toy box and pulls out the little mouses and things and carrys them around in her mouth and then rips them to shredds

would this have something to do with Catnip? is it bad for her?

None of our dogs have ever paid any attention to cat nip. Yes, they will steal a cat toy (filled with cat nip) but I think they were motivated by greed not the cat nip.

Bad for her? How much is she consuming? I wouldn't allow her to have huge amounts but a little should not hurt her.

She dosent eat much of it she just tears little strips off.... i agree with you on the greed thing... when i am watching her she will pick up the toy and just wonder around with it in her mouth for a while then put it down...

Thanks so much for replying to my post....

Well, catnip is a mint type plant (same family, I think) and I've never heard of mint being bad for dogs..I wouldn't worry about it.
At least her breath is minty fresh, right? :)
