| Doggy bed Mia is 8 months old, and pretty big :) She is bigger and more muscular than my neighbors rottwheiler who is male and going to be 1 year old August 24th. He doesn't walk his dog as much as I walk Mia though. Mia gets tons of exercise, she has tons of energy. But anyways, when Mia was little I made her sleep in her crate at night so she could get used to it when I left, well now she loves it when we leave, it makes her feel secure, so she has no problem going in there when we leave. So, after I saw she wasn't afraid and didn't mind her crate I left the door open at night, now she sleeps on my bed, with her head on my pillow and everything. It is pretty darn cute! I don't mind because my bed is big and I have 3 pillows, she uses one, and I use one and the other is usually on the ground that she threw off, during the night she usually gets off and goes in her cage to sleep, I think I move around too much at night. I am pretty sure if I allow her to continue sleeping on my bed I will need a king size in no time hehe.... The only problem I have with her sleeping in my bed is that she leaves small puddles of doggy slobber on her pillow(it is hers now lol). Again, I have no problem with her in my bed, just asking if anyone else allows their dog to do this and do you have any stories? Anyone else let their dog sleep with them? |

| Ben has been sleeping on the bed with us (hubby and me on king size bed) since he was about a year old. He was crated during the day and when we traveled, but at night he was in the bedroom on the bed. He sleeps SIDEWAYS on the bed - I get his face, huby gets the other end :D and he always sleeps up by the pillows.Get a water resistant pillow cover and then put a regular pillow case over it for Mia's pillow. Unless she starts giving you attitude about you telling her to get off the bed, or when you get into bed, it is fine for her to sleep there if she chooses. Only MAJOR issue I had with Ben was when hubby and I wanted to be intimate...Ben was NOT happy, and barked his head off, scratched at the door, and since it is a bi-fold temporary door, he has since learned how to open it...so, Ben gets now plenty of exercise every day and he often goes to sleep on the sofa while we all watch TV and only comes to bed when he wakes up and realizes we're already there!! |

lol.... during the day if I go take a nap, my cat always comes in my room and sleeps on the bed, Mia gets mad and goes and lies right next to the cat staring at him and sometimes tries to lick him, the cat gets mad and jumps somewhere high and goes to sleep.... Mia gets really jealous, it is really funny because it always happens.... |

| Chivas slept on my bed from when she was 12 weeks old to 2 months before she left me, almost 11 years. When she could no longer get in my bed, I made her a big soft bed in the living room and slept on the couch with her. Hannah tries to get on my bed now, but I dont feel good about it, feel like i know Chivas doesnt like it, so she sleeps on the lazyboy recliner in the living room. Kim

| Ha! Smidgen used to like to take her half of the bed out of the middle :D . She was crated at night (until we found out about her cancer, then she could sleep wherever she wanted) but I know full well that she'd snooze on the couch all day. I'd let her up on the bed whenever I was home sick, being lazy, reading, whatever. She'd stretch out and be as good as gold (sometimes she's use the pillow, sometimes she'd sleep sideways across the bottom), occasionally giving me a glare if I moved around too much :D . You could reach down & pet her and get rewarded with a deep, exasperated sigh, too. My favorite "bed" story was when Bill & I brought her to WI with us for a bike rally. It was infernally hot at the rally site & after three days of camping & baking we drove until we got to Ohio & grabbed a hotel. Showered, turned the AC up full blast & then grabbed dinner. Smidgen spent the entire night curled up in a ball at the foot of our bed, luxuriating in the AC :p . Amber isn't a bed dog. She won't curl up, just wants to use it as another platform to look out of the window. So she doesn't get invited up often. The few times that I've been home sick or lazy since we got her I did invite her up & she curled up nicely. She's a weird dog :) . Nina
