Rottie owner who gives the breed a bad rap

I was reading my local flyer in the newspaper and came across a letter written to the editor about PETA. Seems this pet owner had diagnosed her own dog with bone cancer, got a confirmation from the vet and decided not to treat and euthanize her dog right away. She was commenting on how PETA would come to your house and euthanize your dog for you. PETA is based here in Norfolk and not really too well recieved. Anyway in her letter, she stated "Even though Chrissy was a Rottweiler, she was the most loyal and loving of her breed."
That just struck me wrong, her saying "even though" still gives the wrong idea about these loving animals and to have a rottie OWNER say that really annoyed me. As hard as it can be to educate the general public that rotties are NOT a bad breed just get treated bad or bad owners, I was very shocked to see an owner say that about her own breed.
Just felt liking getting this off my chest.

If she wrote that to the editor, then maybe you should pen your own letter to the editor.

But besides that... I never would have thought PETA would get involved that way (?)

You really should speak your mind politely but eloquently to the same newspaper...

I'm surprised PETA would be involved as well.
