Jogging with the Rott

Do any of you jog with your Rottweilers?

I run about 1.5 miles, twice a week - but it's pretty hot during the day. Can I run with the dog or should I worry about her getting heat stroke or something?

You shouldn't jog with your dog until it is over 2 years old....especially on hard surfaces! Puts lots of stress on their joints and they are very predisposed to joints/hip problems. Also, just make sure you don't jog on REALLY hot days...they CAN get heatstroke and remember that dogs don't have the ability to sweat like humans.

Otherwise, enjoy the exercise! :D
