| 2 Male Pups Can 2 male pups co-exist without much drama? I really want another pup, but I want a male pup... If they are young enough and grow up together, would it still be a problem? |

| I have 4 females, ages 11, 7, 6 and 5 and 4 males ages 8, 5, 4 and 2. My 6 yr. old female, Katawna, HATES my other females except for the 7 yr. old (she's a Dachshund). I consider myself very lucky that everyone, except Katawna, lives together peacefully, but this isn't a situation I'd recommend. I make sure to pair male/female in seperate rooms whenever I go out of the house and treat everyone according to the established pack order. If you really want another male, you'll have to be willing to keep them seperated should the need arise. It's also best to keep them seperated when you're not there to supervise. Stimulus fighting could occur and that will set the stage for a whole range of problems.

| I've never had a pup (that is, a dog less than 12 weeks old) But I can say that with the adult dogs I have right now - two males, one female - the two males get along together extremely well. I had the female first, for six odd years, and then adopted a male- for about two years, and then added another male this year. I think the key is socialization and introduction (not to mention neutering!) Why do you need to have a pup, maybe you can consider adopting an older dog? I have with my last three dogs and it has worked out great.

| I didn't intend to have this many dogs and I actually have 2 less than I did a year ago. Some of our dogs are rescues, but this is their home now and I can't part with them. We lost one of our females, Kim, to bone cancer a month ago and we had to home out Tacoma, another rescue, last summer. He started out okay, then he wanted to move up the ladder. He got into it with Boss to the tune of over $400.00 in vet bills (just for Tacoma). We kept him seperated from Boss. Then he began to get uppity with Shiloh and so on. The dog was suicidal! He's great with females and with other males in social situations, so now he lives about 10 minutes away from me with a wonderful family. As I said, this is not a situation I would recommend and I don't plan on adding any more dogs. Of course, if I was independently wealthy, it would be a different story :).
