Advice needed on finding a good trainer

Sampson already has some basic knowledge of obedience. I'd really like to continue with him so he and I can learn more. Plus, I want to make sure that I'm doing the right thing when I ask him for commands. What do I need to look for and ask a trainer? It's pretty clear that he was abused by a man. He responds better to women and is head shy and backs off from men. Thanks for any thoughts on this.

Where are you located? My trainer uses the haulter method and stresses praise not punishment. It is best to sit in on a class before you join, talk to other students.

Hi,

I use a great trainer in Sinking Springs/Shillington area. He trains using a clicker, and it really works wonders. The PM is not working right now or I would PM you with the name. Maybe search yahoo, in PA for dog trainers. I will PM as soon as it starts working. :)

Hello,

I'm pretty close to you (slatington area). The trainer I use has all sorts of classes and I believe private training. Classes range from puppy school, basic obediance school plus more advance classes to get your dog to respond to your command during destractive situations. They praise the dogs/not repemend unless the dog shows inappropriate behavior with out phyical touch. If you are interested in finding out more info to contact just email me at royalarrival@hotmail.com
