PLEASE HELP>What we can expect with second dog?

HI
I have a 20-month-old female by the name Lady. She is calm and friendly dog.
We have a wish to by a male pappy, but I do not know what we can expect.
Is it hard to have two dogs live in hose?
What problems we can expect until pappy grows to an adult dog.
Thanks

I have three dogs. When I brought the female rotty home as a pup I first kept a baby gate between her and my adult male until they became used to one another. I then discovered that he would just lay there and let her crawl all over him happily. You can not expect every dog to be like this but one thing is for sure you'll have a lot more work such as house training the pup, crate training, and chewing to contend with again. I found it all worth it in the end though. :)

Fuad,
Way back when I had a 2 y.o. female dobe/lab mix. I was volunteering at a shelter and an adorable boxer mix male pup was brought in. I fell in love, and after much discussion with my better half, we adopted the pup. We had 9 wonderful years with him til he succumbed to cancer. When my dobe/lab was almost 13, we adopted an 18 month old female rottie. All is now well with the two girls. Two dogs are better than One. Good luck! :)

I have 3 dogs....one 16 yrs old..one 12 yrs old.....one 5 months old....no they dont get along always but they know I make the rules and all is fine. Thats the key! when you have more then 1 dog they will try to make a pack..just make sure they know you are the boss and you can care for all of them, In my opinion you can own several dogs. Now my guinni pigs...another whole story....ROFLMAO.... :D

We just adopted our THIRD this past tuesday.

Odin is a male rottweiler who is 17 months old and nuetered (110 lbs)

Delila (who I adopted in November 2000) is a spayed female rottweiler who is now 8 months and 85 lbs.

And we just adopted Laika who is a rott/husky mix who is almost 9 weeks and
11 lbs.

There are a few things that you have to be careful of
#1 - don't treat them differently, if you take one outside take the other too.
#2 - Don't let one have something that the other one can't have too
#3 - Make sure the big dog doesn't get too rough playing with the puppy.
#4 - make sure you have the time and patience to deal with them BOTH all day everyday.
#5 - When you train the puppy sit, down, etc...if you reward with a treat make sure the other dog gets one too(especially if they do the trick too)

Other than that my attitude is the more the merrier!
