I was most embarrassed by my dog when....

Here we go everyone.

I was most embarrassed by my dog when:

Parker is now just shy of 10 months. He's my show pup, so he is intact. He's been discovering his, umm, newly functioning parts as of late.

This morning, he woke up with - well, let's just say 'excited'. When this happened before, it only took a moment of walking around for things to go 'back to normal'.

Well, this morning, hip movement and all, he couldn't stop. Walked around the house, down the stairs, outside and on our walk. I thought the fresh air might help.

A little child across the road pointed and said "Mommy why is that dog limping?" I quickly stepped in front of her line of sight so that she couldn't see the real problem. :p

It went away after 5 minutes - but it was 5 minutes of eternity! :p

Well since she's a rescue, no puppy stories...:(

However, Makita likes to "people watch" like my husband.... when we walk past their houses, I swear it is so embarrasing...if someone is out with groceries, or whatnot...she's nosy rosy..
then a couple times, she will actually start to turn into the driveway, like she's at home...

I say, oh sorry, she thinks everyone's got something for her...

what a mooch...:D

I have a cute one...........

I was most embarassed by one of our pups....he was just 7 months old, the hormones were starting to kick in.......

He peed on my leg when we were in one of his first AKC puppy classes! This is right in front of the judge and the whole crowd!

Needless to say, everyone had a good laugh about that (except me, this was about 14 years ago when I first started handling and I was so embarassed!)

Ha - very cute thread!

I think Birdie's most embarassing moment was when she peed on my neighbors's sister's dog's head! :D My neighbor's sister didn't think it was very cute when my snotty little rottweiler puppy decided that her little foo-foo dog's head looked like a good place to squat!

Oh, and then there is her habit of not pooping on our walks until the exact moment that we run into a person who is admiring how cute she is! it never fails! She says - cute, heh? I'll show you cute!:p

At least you made it into your first class Sharon! Or you could have been like me and have missed your class while you were trying to piddle the pup. :p :D I'll never do THAT again! *knock on wood* ;)

I love this thread Trish! Very cute!

Well since Julius is only almost six months I'm sure I will have more & more embarassing moments coming up in the days to come.

The most embarrasing moment up to now would probably have to be when Ryan & I were walking Julius downtown doing a bit of socializing. I posted awhile ago about Julius not going poop or pee downtown at all. Soooooo---dumb Ryan & Brooke take Julius to busy downtown WITHOUT ANY plastic bags. Soooo, we're thinking that our darling little puppy isn't going to go to the bathroom downtown as history had taught us before. We had just started our walk when Julius stopped & I turned around to see what he was doing. Here he was SQUATTING in the MIDDLE of the sidewalk pooping up a storm!!! Since we had no bags Ryan had to go into the store that we were in front of & ask for a plastic bag. We've learned our lesson now. But yes, that was quite embarrasing having Julius poop in the middle of the sidewalk that is just filled with people. Classic! :p

:)

Well, even though she is only 12 weeks old, we have already had an embarrassing moment. Two days ago we took Mercedes to Petco. Well, Mercedes has a thing for kids. She absolutly loves them! I think she thinks they are mini mommys. So, we are walking through Petco, and these two little girls, mabey 5 or 6 years old at the most are like, "Mommy, look at the cute puppy!" Mercedes goes running over to them and starts jumping and liking them all over. The little girls were very happy about this, but their mom didn't look too pleased. The mom is like, "Be carful so she doesn't pee on you." As I am telling the mom, "She hasn't peed on anyone yet, what happens? You can probably guess. She peed all over the little girl. There was pee all over her shirt and pants. So, the little girl started cying, the other little girl was laughing, the mom was pissed, and my SO walked away laughing, leaving me to deal with all the embarasment!:D

I was most embarrassed (and tickled pink, too;) ) when Leader, at about 5, was doing a French ring 2 competition...and jump or climbed up on the wall (1m80 about 6' high) and just sat there waiting....with his adorable tail and 2 :o :o HANGING ON ONE SIDE AND THE REST OF HIM ON THE OTHER:D :D :D ! ...Well, after about a minute of pure agony, he finally jumped down and then came back over just fine!

Was I ever glad that was over!:p ;) :D :D

Some of you will remember this...

I had Mojave in the ring at our first real trial for the first leg on his CD. We're heading straight for the judge, about to make a right turn into the "fast" during the off-lead heeling. I notice Mojave is no longer with me. I look back and there he is, hunched over RIGHT NEXT TO THE JUDGE taking a huge "load-off"

Oh but that wasn't the best of it....the BEST part came when the judge SCREAMED across the ring to the stewards "BRING ME A CLEAN UP BAG...NO NO THE REGULAR ONES WON'T DO IT...BRING ME THE PLASTIC SHOPPING BAG I HAVE UP THERE!" :o

I...wanted....to....DIE. At the time I thought I would :p

Kaiya has yet to fully humiliate me in public yet. I'm sure the time will come soon though :o

The most embarrasing thing i've seen is when I was walking Kiara there was a guy who thought his dog was the be and end all of dogs. The inspector walked over to check if his dog was registered, if he was carrying a plastic bag and if the dog was within control. He didn't have a bag, no registration, no leash and the dog did the biggest poo in front of the inspector as he was booking him.
$75 fine for no registration , $50 for no bag , $75 for not having control over his dog , $75 for the poo and one totally peeved off idiotic owner :(

Now you can't be happy with that!

Lacking originality, my dogs over the years have all managed to drop a load in the worst places, worst times and always when I haven't a bag with me. Once, I was so mortified, I tried to gently kick the logs under some leaves but they smooshed onto my shoe instead. So I had to tramp poop all down the sidewalk, hoping no one was peering out their windows. This inevitably happens on the walk home, right after we leave a park or woodsy setting where load dropping is acceptable.

Yet that pales in comparison to my current boy Gunnar's gaffe in public. Walking around the upscale dog park by the lake, on the tastefully manicured and pebbled trail with other dog owners and dogs gamboling around, he scrunches up his body and emits an enormous fart prior to releasing the log jam he's had building all afternoon. Several people openly laughed, others politely snickered and everyone waited to see if I'd pick it up. I did, but it required two bags. I had to carry them half a mile, reeking, before I could find the doo-doo can.

My Chivas never embarrassed me but she was the reason someone DID get embarrassed and rightly so. Chivas was a very large and nicely muscled female. A bit oversive actually, 116lbs and mistaken for a male sometimes. Anyway, I was at the pet store with her and Mr Know It All walked up and started telling his wife and friends about how Chivas was extremely small for a rottie. About that time, a vet i know walked up and hadnt seen Chivas for a while and exclaimed about how big and beautiful she was. Mr Know It All asked my vet friend how did he know about rottweilers? The vet replied "Well im a vet and my wife breeds rottweilers"! LOL I LOVED the look on that jerks face!

puppy k a few months ago

Toby the Terrier--he walks to the middle of the ring and pees.

I'm mortified. I clean it up. The worst part is he started a large procession of peeing in the same spot for the duration of the class. 5 of the remaining 7 dogs in the class peed in the same spot within the next hour. The next week, one of the other ladies in the class whispered to me before it started--Toby's not going to start the pee-off again is he?

:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
