Jealousy or just friendly behaviour

I just wanted another insight on this situation. If I go up to give my husband a kiss on the cheek, mouth whatever, our 20 week old pup comes over and starts licking him all over his face, neck and mouth like crazy. Is he just showing his side of hey I want to be in on this too or does he consider my husband his possession and he's showing that by doing this? Doesn't lick me at all, just my husband. Doesn't make any noise either just licks away like crazy.

Huh? How does this pup even reach his face? I'm asking this because if the pup is on the couch or bed, get him off or yes, he could very well be showing posessiveness. Dogs do like to be in the middle of things, but it is our job to see to it that they don't mistake the human positions with their own.

Sometimes when my husband and I are playing on the floor with the dog I'll lean over and give him a little kiss. Salem is not in any way shape or form allowed on the furniture of the bed. I guess I'll have to keep my eye on him if it is possessiveness. I was hoping he was just wanting not to be left out. ;)

It's probably a bit of both. In general, I recommend that people not put themselves in a "lowered" position in relation to their dogs.
