Senior food at 7 years old?

I have been feeding my 7 year old Rott Eukaneuba maintenance for large breeds since he was 4 years old. I was told that since he is 7 years old he should switch to senior food to help his diet or soemthing. Is this true, if so what kind of food would you recommend? My dog only eats dry food.

Does he need lower cal food to lose weight?
Does he need lower protein for any kidney issues?

If his health is good, and he's active, I wouldn't switch to senior. I would however, try to put him on a kibble that has meat-based proteins instead of grain. And personally, I'd put him on a joint supplement, if you haven't already, for preventive maintenance.

The vet says he is in good shape and is pretty active for his age. I think I will put him on a joint supplement to help reduce any future problems.
Thanks

Check out our food archives...there are better foods than Iams products. Just something to consider. :)
