babydoll-

Genetics will tell how big your dog will become. Were you able to meet his parents? If you look at his parents, you can get an idea of how big your dog will be. From the sounds of it, your boy sounds like he is neither too fat nor too thin. Feed a high-quality food- at the very least Nutro's Natural Choice- and give him plenty of excersise. These guys can take lots of time mature completely, although I'm unsure how long...I think it's about 3 years or so?? Don't worry about it now, as long as he's healthy and happy!
:D

Babydoll,
I'm afraid I can't give you any advice or info about his weight. But someone once told me that as long as a dog's rear hips/back was higher than his front it propbably meant it was still growing (unless it is past 3 for a rott). i believe rotts continue to grow in height until somewhere aroung 2 and they continue to grow in width, strength and their heads broaden until about 3. maybe someone more expert can tell you more.
Good growing,

mine is a year old, he is 85 pounds, although he looks about 95 to me....i guess the scale doesnt lie.
I was also told it will take a few more years for him to reach his max height, and weight....
I was told that he will be about 105....just from the guesstimate method....
really cannot see his ribs tho....he looks sleek, not fat, not skinny....

Well, my baby dog is now 10 months old, and he's somewhere between 80 and 100 lbs. I would guess that your dog's size is normal, according to two vets we've seen they don't stop growing until about 18 months. And each dog is going to grow at a different weight. Ours had a huge spurt between 3 and 8 months, and he's slowed down considerably. I would also guess that yours has grown a lot and you haven't noticed, since you see him (her) everyday and are looking for changes.

No fear, your baby will soon be bigger than you!

Mac just turned 1 and he weighs somewhere in the vicinity of 80-85lbs. He is not fat and not lean, very muscular. I am still feeding him large puppy food. I was told that since they mature so slowly that it was better to keep them on puppy food longer. Now since this is my first rottie I don't know whether that is true or not but it seems to be working well with him.

Elijah is 16 mo. old and has weighed approximately 95 lbs. since November. We were just at the vet the other day and the vet says he looks great-he is long and lean with alot of muscle and his coat really shines. Elijah's Dad, Max, weighs 140 but he does not get the exercise that Elijah does-the Dad looks a little out of shape. Elijah is active in agility and we walk several miles a day-the vet thinks he may get to be about 105.
