How much sleep and crating ?

At 11 weeks how much sleep should he get ? Should I try to make him sleep every 2 hours or let him sleep when he decides to ?

AND

My girlfriend and I are away most of the day but my dad comes around and let him out for minimum and hour each day around 12:00 noon (he has his own room around 4 square meters where he is when we are not home).

We have a crate in the living room - How much can I crate him in the evening? I'm affraid to crate him to much, so at this time it's max. 1 hour a day. But sometimes I would like to do it more often, but again he needs to be around us, afterall we are away in the workinghours.

Can some please give me some advise?

Our boy is crated whenever we are not home and out when we are. He too has his own room. I feel that him having his den and knowing where he belongs is more important at 14 weeks then him being by my side all time. His crate is his den and he is put there everynight. Go about your day as usual and let him become part of your daily routine and then he will be on a schedule that works for everyone.
As far as the sleep part Hannibal sleeps when he wants and we don't wake him. When he goes in the crate at night I do give him toys so if he is awake he won't be bored and start crying. Good luck... :D
