Rott and Pit? (Dominance for how long?)

Ok here's my question!
I have the most wonderful Rotti at home..she is 4 months old..she is an inside dog..as of now..we live in an apartment..but for financial circumstances we may more likely be staying with my In-laws..for a short time..there's a poodle inside..so no Rotti inside there..but...that's no problem..cool..cuz she's loving the outside world..running around like there's no tomorrow..lol..but..I just recently got a beautiful white Red Nose Pitbull..most adorable thing..I got her from this guy who said he had to get rid of her bc he was afraid his other dogs would kill her..she was too noble..(she already got her ear chipped off)..and like the animal lover that I am..I took her of course..but as soon as she saw our Chyna(rotti)...she was hysterical..so had to buy some kennels for her..and she is staying at the in-laws..but little by little we have associated them alittle..by now they don't go at it w/each other..the even play together..but my little Rotti keeps trying to take Alpha position..doing the T-position..this Pit is a female also..but she just turned 1yr old..so is she bigger....she's got no urge to bite..but does show dominance by laying on my rotti..but she's a playful dog..my rotti keeps pickin at her till she gets nibbed at..which to me..Pink(pit)..is only telling her to lay off..(other words, get over it already)..so most of the time we have to keep Pink in her kennel..since they're known to lock jaws..we don't want her to kill one of the others..while the other dogs run lose..there's also a 6month Husky..she only gets to come out a few hours a day..since we will be livin over there..how will they get along..and it's only fair to let all of them lose free..in-laws also have a German Shorthaired Pointer/lab..(female)..also..4 months..
Is there any way these breeds will get along at all?..without constantly fighting over Alpha Position?..or simply just roughplaying/fighting?
My in-laws will be giving the husky away to a friend..and the poodle is now a gift to my mother..but still..3 females on the property..is there a way they can all ger along???.... :

Way to many dogs in one area untrained. They are going to make a pack if you are not careful. Please go read as much as you can on how to maintain pack order if you are going to stay living in these conditions. Im afraid of one big disaster. Doesnt mean it can not be done successful but I will say YOU HAVE YOUR WORK CUT OUT....

First of all I want to say the the whole "Lock Jaws" thing is a big MYTH. Pit bulls cannot lock their jaws any more than any other dog can. Now with that said, it seems like your going to have 3 young dogs on your hands for awhile. I went from having 1 dog to 4 in a matter of a month (But only 2 of them were puppies & the other was a 3 yr old) Basicly how we handled it was to try and socialize them one at a time (so only 2 dogs out) Supervised, then we'd have them all out together and watch them. They learned very quickly how to deal with eachother. BTW the 2 puppies were PittMixes and the other was a lab/sharpei mix. Then my rott/dobi mix Tippsy. I will say it did help that at least 2 of them were properly triend. The puppies I had to train myself. Good luck!

Firstly, buy any book on Pit Bulls written by Richard Stratton. This "known to lock jaws" thing is absolutely 100% nonsense. Pit Bulls are tenacious; but they certainly don't lock their jaws.

Keeping dogs apart and providing individual training time is highly advisable. It's also adviseable to have SUPERVISED play time with 2 dogs...not 4 or 5...TWO at a time; under controlled circumstances.

You've bitten off a big piece here...and it's going to take a whole bunch of time and training to create that harmonious K9 atmosphere that you're hoping for.

You may do well to seek some help with a trainer in a class situation.....one dog at a time.

WorkinDogz covered it, especially about the part of not letting more than two dogs out together at a time - supervised. Any kind of stimulus could cause a fight and when there are more than two dogs in the mix, the rest will tend to gang up on a dog that's down, the dog who's at a disadvantage in the fight or could begin seperate fights among themselves. NOT a situation you'll want to have to deal with. Lots of training is in order and I also advise not to leave toys laying around or have play sessions with more than two dogs at a time - it's even preferable to have one-on-one play sessions, especially in this situation. I also suggest putting them in their crates while you get their food ready and feed them in the crates. To do otherwise would just be asking for trouble. Your Pit and Rottweiler will eventually have to work things out as to who will ultimately be alpha. If they can't work it out and end up hating each other, they'll need to be kept seperated for their own safety. Letting them work this out while you're staying elsewhere with other dogs who won't be a part of your household isn't a good idea. All I can say now is best of luck!
