Someone told me that if you have a dog with no papers, you can still register him. He's a rescue and I was just wondering if anyone has run into this before. I don't know the steps to take.

If the dog is pure bred and neutered it can receive an ILP number from AKC which will permit the dog to participate in obedience, tracking, herding, agility, etc. - just not conformation
