| Under the weather... I am fighting a nasty chest cold, so I have not been playing with Harley or working on his training.:( It seems like all I have had energy to do the last few days is sleep. My hubby takes care of feeding the boys, and he plays with them some, but not as much as I normally do and he's not really inclined to do much with the training. Well, he does work on the sit-stay but not much else. Any suggestions about how to spend more time with my boys while I'm ill? Other than getting well... soon!!:) Unfortunately, we rent at this time and aren't supposed to have pets in the house (they do sneak in occasionally:D ). Thanks. |

| Sounds like a great opportunity to work on some fun stuff. If he's not clicker trained and you are interested in the concept, it would be a great time to "load" the clicker. By load I mean teach the dog to associate the clicker with a reward. In my experience, clicker training can be used for all kinds of different stuff. You could also teach him tricks or "targeting". All good stuff that doesn't require a bunch of physical activity. They should be done in short sessions, but it will give you an opportunity to keep him mentally engaged and keep you from having to feel miserable to spend time with him. Enjoy. |
