Pet Protect pet insurance

I was reading a AAA Chicago Motor Club magazine and saw a clip on pet insurance. They mentioned Pet Protect at www.pethealthinsure.com. I checked it out and comes to $22 per month for the Classic plan, which is their second and best plan (from the 2 they have) I did not read anywhere that Rotts were extra or not covered.

Does anyone use this company? Knw of it and have any experiences. I'm looking to change insurance companies.

Copied this from site:
Coverage for vaccinations, preventive treatment, pregnancy, spaying or castration is not provided. WHY? Instead of providing coverage for routine wellness exams, Pet Protect® provides the most thorough coverage for the unexpected conditions - The accidents, illnesses, and diseases that tend to be the most costly. Pet Protect® pays 100% of covered claims after the $40 deductible, and has NO pre-determined Veterinary Fee Schedule.

Pet Protect's® Classic Plan
Covers More Than Vet Fees

Maximum Benefit Per Policy

Veterinary Fees for accident, illness, or disease, to give your pet the best possible care. $3,000
per illness or injury
$10,000 Annual Aggregate

Death from Accident or Illness
to refund your pet’s purchase price. (Not exceeding 9 years of age) $500

Boarding Fees will be paid if you should go into the hospital for more than 96 hours and if your pet should require Kennel or Cattery use. $500

Advertising and Reward Costs
will be paid should your pet be stolen. $250

Loss by Theft
In the event of such an occurrence we will compensate you for the purchase price of your pet. $500

Hmm.... never heard of it. Please report back should you purchase the policy as I'd like to hear how you like it. I have VPI... I'm not 100% satisfied, but can't get my &^% in gear to look elsewhere.

I contact Petprotect - and they told me that they could not cover any of my dogs because they were rescue dogs and I didn't have more than 2 years history on any of them.....!!!

Even my 12 month old who I told them I had since 8 weeks old they said they could not cover her....

I went back to what use to be Premier Pet Insurance - I think its now call PetCare ???? something.. the only problem with this newly formed company - they take 6-8 weeks to process a claim when they were Premier Pet insurance it only took 4 weeks...

I was just glad to get coverage at this point.

I stopped VPI after 4 months - that insurance company is simply a rip off.... they decide what they think is a reasonable cost - regardless of what the vet charged for the care and then they give you a % of that... which often times is NOTHING... I stopped my premium after making my first claim - it was ridiculous.
