2 Puppies-How much time can they spend together?

I have read in some recent threads that if one has 2 puppies you should keep them apart so that they bond with their humans and not each other, and that they should be fed, trained and played with separately. My husband and I are importing 2 puppies from Germany. Fae arrives tomorrow and Jackson next month. :D :D They are from the same breeder, but different litters and are only one month apart. I will be home with them during the day. I would like to know please, how much time is acceptable for them to spend together each day? And also up to what age should they need to be separated like this?

You will get different theories on this but I have never had any trouble allowing pups to play together a large portion of the time but sleep in separate crates and they must each get some training and human 1 on 1 every single day. They must also get some time with you out and about town or training class without the other pup so that theylearn to fnction as an individual.

In the house be warned that housebreaking two pups is certainly more difficult than one.

PersonallyI would never sell two pups to the same person. I'm a big believer that companion pups should be at least 1 year apart from eac other so that they each get a firm understanding of house etticate etc..

However since you have 2 coming already you will have to pt more effort into making each one an individual and not just two halves of a whole

I have an 11 month old now, and we are planning to get another one in April from the same breeder. At our obedience school we went to, they said that the younger puppy should spend no more than 1 hour per day with the older dog, until it is 6 months old. I really can't see how that is possible, but i guess just limit the time for a while to make sure it bonds with you.
