Female rott question

I noticed that some pics I see of bitches that they have the hanging breasts. Do all female rotts end up with the sagging....breast, or is this only a result of giving birth and nursing?

Yep. :) The more litters, the more they tend to hang. You can't have a litter of 8 - 12 pups and not have something slip. ;)

So...

No litters, no sagging? I'm not planning on breeding at this point in time, so if that is the final decision(not to breed) than I'm going to have her spayed. Which means no litter, which means she'll look like a male dog...no sagging?

Nope! :) There shouldn't be any sagging at all then. Unless of course you let her gain weight. ;) But that's a different kind of sag. :D hehehe :D

Keep her fit and trim as you would any dog and she'll be fine.

When I went in to have Holly fixed, the vet initially thought she was pregnant because she had cysts. I was a bit nervous when I took her in for her surgery because I thought her breasts might be a bit full.

So while Holly's breasts don't sag, they are a bit bigger than a dog that's not been pregnant.

Any way to firm them up? Gretchen is saggy-am hoping she firms up as I like the sleek look. I think she had her puppies about 4 months ago, how long do they take to get back to what will be normal for her post-puppy?

Hey, the girls keep their important stuff inside where it is protected. The boys like to show theirs off and thus carry it externally with great pride.

Yes, many bitches tuck up quite nicely after having a litter. Sometimes it depends upon how long their owners allowed those pups to be hanging off of them and whether they followed good procedure in helping them dry up. Exercise and diet can help.
