Bigger Beef....WAY BIGGER

Okay I just found out the one thing that i hate more than owners with thier dog off the leash.
Its owners of "tough" breed dogs that prod and provoke their dogs to try and fight mine. I have never been so mad.
some guy with a Pitbull in his front yard starts to chant to his dog "watch 'em, sssssick 'em, get 'em" and this dog is going totally nuts. him and his buddies got a great deal og joy from watching the dog strangle itself trying to get to my dogs.

Now I ask you how in the hell do morons like these get dogs?

They all get together and breed them in their back yards. Sad huh? There should be an IQ test required to own a pet or have children.

Doggguy,

I had to check your profile to see if you lived near me http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/smile.gif. I live in a little bit of a tuff area, and there are pitts on every corner, literally. And yes they do get together and breed them in their backyards. It is unfortunate what they have done to the breed, most of them are so oversized, I hear people proudly talk about their puppy whos father is 120lbs and mother is 100lbs, and when can we get started teaching it to attack. The poor thing is only 5 weeks old. Its pittiful.

I dont walk my dog in this area, he is a beautiful looking guy, nice big head, people generally S#@$ when they see us comming down the trail, around here his looks are an invitation for idiots to inquire about wether I fight him or not. I actually had one kid ask me if he brought his dog down could we fight them in my backyard, I told him he could bring his dog down if he wanted to but the only thing he would be fighting would be a 12Gage. Magnum is never outside alone either, I dont want someone to steal him and use him for that.

Calling these people morons is much to kind, I can think of a few different words that discribe them much better.

That is so sick, it makes me wanna scream. I just want to take those poor dogs away before they end up being euthanized for biting.

My father is a lawyer, and prosecuted a guy who's rotties attacked a little kid. This guy was a total nut and used to show off the scars he got from attack 'training' his dogs. Of course, one day these completely damaged dogs got out of their flimsy pen, attacked a little boy and literally tore his arm off. God, can you imagine? I think the owner should be charged with assault in a case like that, because it is more his fault than the dogs'.

I'll say it again -- people like that should be euthanized, or at least neutered!

Which is why when and if I breed, I plan to keep them all, and perhaps I will give a few to trusted close personal friends only. I really wish people would watch who they allow their pups to go to. There are sooo many "morons" out there. What a doggie pickin shame. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/frown.gif

DoggGuy-

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. In my old neighborhood (before we got Mojave, didn't want him around all the morons who lived and bred their dogs around mine when I got one)these types of people were EVERYWHERE. Dog fights were an underground thing that happened every Friday night. The loser of the fight would be shot after the "show." The cops finally got tipped off and the whole "gang" of them were caught and prosecuted in some ways.

Now in my new neighborhood there's only one family on the other block who has teenagers who are little punks who always stop to ask me stupid questions about my boy and worst of all, the son's mom asked me where I got Mojave because she wants one too....I shook my head and walked away.

Somewhat the same thing happened to me once when I had my dogs in the car while I ran an errand (I was probably away from the car for five minutes, tops). Some jerk was outside my car with his dog, provoking his dog to lunge at my car and dogs (saying, "get em!" etc.). Of course both my dogs were going bats***. His dog was also going crazy.
The jerk thought it was funny but as soon as he saw me approaching my car, he and his dog backed away. The guy was fairly puny. I think provoking his dog was to compensate for something. http://www.rottweiler.net/rottie/wink.gif

I just can't believe that people can be so cruel to animals! I see it on a daily basis and still can't believe it.

I own a Rott and a Pitt. Both are very loving and loyal dogs. Mookie, my pitbull loves people, he is well socialized - I even got a kitten a couple of months ago and thought it would take me weeks before I can get them comfortable with each other. Guess what! It took a total of 3 days! Now, that's not saying Mookie can be trusted to just any animal or person. This is where owner responsibility comes in. Pits have a natural agression towards strange dogs. He has always been very sweet and very loyal to us, and our guests, but still he is a dog and I'm always careful. This breed is actually a wonderful breed - people have given them a bad rep.

And although I love Mookie to death, I have to say that Dina, my Rott is by far my baby! She's 7 1/2 yrs old, Mookie is 4 yrs old. And besides the kitten who is about six months old - I just got an early Valentines present - a rottie pupply - 9 wks old! I forgot how much energy a rott puppy has! Gosh, I hope I can train properly!

Anyway, I think if you can call animal control on these people. And if you call enough times, these people can be charged or at the very least ticketed. They do that here in Chicago.

Good luck!

I have 4 rotties and a 110 lb lab/shep mix...and people ask me if I am a drug dealer!!! Give me a break, because I own Rotties I deal drugs?? What kind of world is this?? THEN the people hear that I help out with a Rottie Rescue group...they want to know where THEY can get a ggo and IF they can get one from US. I tell them to go to the next adoption day/fundraiser, then tell them what we require BEFORE they can even think of adopting from us (3 refernces, vet check, home visit, etc.) and they usually don't show up t at the adoption day! I work for an employment agency, and I hate to be prejudicial, but I KNOW that alot of those seemingly unemployed people (who have cell phones and pagers, and 7 kids and 2 girlfriends, etc!) are NOT going to meet our adoption criteria (one being that you must be financially able to care for a dog!).

I would NEVER allow any of the people that come into the office adopt from us...well, maybe one or two out of the 1000 that come in looking for work every month!

People can be SO stupid!! I agree - stupid people sholdn't breed--there should be tougher regulations on PEOPLE having kids too!! mandatory spay/neuter of idiots!!

I really hope you guys are kidding...though I agree w/ you that they shouldn't breed, there's no way we should impose anything to keep them from doing it.

LISA I AGREE WITH YOUR PRACTICES...I DO NOT EVER ADVERTISE ANY OF MY LITTERS. I ONLY SELL TO FRIENDS OR BY REFERRAL FROM FRIENDS. I KNOW EACH FAMILY PERSONALLY AND WE REGULARLY TALK AND MEET. ITS BETTER THAN HAVUNG SOME WEIRDO CRAWLING AROUND YOUR HOUSE AND PUTTING HIMSELF AT RISK BEING BITTEN.
I USED TO OWN THESE PITS THAN EVERYONE'S AFRAID OF AND HE'S NO LONGER ALIVE. HE WAS JUST NATURALLY NASTY...HIS PARENTS WERE BOTH FIGHTERS, SO THATS WHERE HE GOT IT. HE KILLED A NEIGHBORS DOG WHEN THEIR KIDS LET HIM IN THEIR YARD AFTER BEING WARNED NOT TO. HE WAS PUT DOWN THE NEXT DAY. HE WEIGHED 123 LBS

I agree!!!!
It's very sad that these young kids think that having a pit bull or rottweiler makes them tough. Truth is, the ones who think like that are the people with no guts, no heart, just looking for a "status symbol"
trying to compensate for their lack of nerve and courage!!!!
