Drooling

Just recently, my 7.5 month old girl started having a drooling problem. I am talking both sides of the mouth, hanging there, thick slimey drool. I studied Pavlof's dogs' theory in high school and I think it's food that does this. I have only noticed the really bad drool when I am preparing a snack or meal for myself. I take a towel and wipe it off. She doesn't do this any other time. She is by no means deprived of food, she gets fed twice a day. What are your thoughts on this? Anyone have any suggestions? Is this a phase? None of my other dogs do it.

From an anatomy study guide regarding salivary glands
"A few glands are much larger and more complex in structure, and these secrete the majority of saliva in response to the presence of food or other stimuli..."

Our two males' mouth's look like waterfalls in the presense of food!

Brandy was never much of a drooler until lately. Now @ 2 1/2 the slobber dribbles start hanging as soon as I start dinner or anyone has a snack. Enjoy your rotten
Slobber kisses from now on.

Cain does it every time food is present. Both sides of his mouth, pools on the floor. Last week, I had a guest over and before I could stop him, he drooled on the tabletop while we were eating.

Mac does this only when we are eating something he really really wants and then the drool goes everywhere. But he is the messier drinker I have ever seen. He drinks and drinks and then dribbles it out of his mouth all thru the house. My husband has gotten so ticked about walking in water that I have put his water dish on a rug plus I keep a towel in front of it. Helps a little!
I keep threatening to put a bib on him.
