Thank you for posting this, Halliebear. What a wonderful article. I wrote the author a note to acknowledge a job well done. She deserves a flurry of appreciation from us. We need more like her in the media to turn things around for the dogs we love.

I was most impressed with your article titled "Bad Reputation". In a seemingly endless ocean of misinformed and ill-meaning write-ups about Rotties and Pit Bulls, yours was a rare breath of fresh air. I commend you for a job well done: you presented the facts about these wonderful dogs and offered pertinent statistics that no rational person should be able to refute. Thank you for being willing to "swim against the current" of the current stereotypes and hysteria which malign these breeds; you have done it with grace, logic, and a love of truth. I can only hope that the seeds you have sown will find an echo in many hearts and minds. These best friends deserve no less.

As a owner/handler/breeder of the American Pit Bull Terrier I found this article wonderful and sad. I so wanted to hunt down where Tank is with his stuffy and bring him home to me. I just wish people would open their minds and hearts up.:(

Ms. Wolff just sent me a reply to my letter in response to her article:

"Thank you so much for your note. Would you consider forwarding this as a letter to the editor to help people understand how owners feel about their dogs. They would run it with your name and what city and state you are
from. Are you in Memphis?"

I replied positively to her inquiry.

That is so great, I think we should all send her a thank you note. I belong to a pitbull list as well, and many people there are also sending her emails to say thank you. :D
