Calling ALL Long Haired Rottie Owners

RD picked (adopted) up Buck (aka Big Boy) yesterday and according to my room mate who met him, he looked surprised at the amount of hair they have...lol. Need you all to give him tips regarding the grooming of a long haired Rottie.

Well, I already responded to RD's thread about what type of brushes to use. I generally run a pin brush over my long haired Rottie every day or two, just to make sure snarls aren't forming and to keep her looking pretty. This usually just takes a minute or two. Her coat is soft and silky, but the hair is not fine and doesn't mat easily like a Cocker Spaniel. She sheds dirt pretty easily, and I probably bathe her 4-6 times per year. In the summer, I clip her with a 1" comb attachment. It leaves her enough hair so she is well protected from the sun, but she doesn't have to wear that big bear coat.
