Does your dog like animal TV shows?

When I am watching Animal Planet and there is a particular episode showing dogs, barking or whining.. my Prince will stare at the TV for ever, then he will get up and go around the back of the TV to see where they have gone if the clip changes :) - its sooo funny

Sheena can see any animal movement on the TV and then she runs up to it growling and jumping up and down. Then she goes to the glass sliding door next to the TV and looks out at the backyard. I have a big screen TV and I'm sure the animals look real to her. She just doesn't like the animals in her living room. :D

Brinx and Dooley both stop in their tracks as soon as they hear a dog on tv. It is so funny to see this sometimes I will turn on Animal Planet just to watch it!

Dakota runs up to the TV pushes her nose up to the tv and then starts whining and runs over to the big floor length mirror. She does this if she hears a dog outside too (only she runs to the window and finding the blind closed she runs to the mirror!) Ever since I took away window privlidges from her she runs to the mirror. I think she is a little confused, but we love her anyways!

P.S Do your pups whine like 3 year olds too? Geez I'm only 23... I'm too young for a kid!

If Brodie hears a dog barking or whining on the TV he will start to bark and whine. And sometimes he will run up to one of the tower cabinets of the entertainment center and look at himself in the glass as he does it, I don't know if he thinks it's another dog or what, but it's very comical.

Hi Janet! A couple of years ago I bought the video of "Wolves at our Door" that aired on the Discovery Channel. It was repeated just recently. Anyway, about a year ago I decided to watch it again, and while the wolves were howling, Diva started making
her 'attempts' to do the same! She was looking behind the TV,
staring at the speakers with her head cocking from side to side, and seemed genuinely spellbound by this 'language'. I started telling her to 'sing' with the wolves, and I started making howling noises (the neighbors have to think I'm a real wacko!). Well since then she will 'sing' on command. There's no sweeter sound then her howling! And she holds her head straight back, nose pointing upwards, and howls to beat the band. Her brother wolves would be proud! Every now and then I put the video on just to hear her 'sing' with someone other then myself!

We have a big screen tv so when there are dogs barking or whining on tv, Bailey gets up goes to the tv and I know she wonders why there not really there, because according to the picture some of the dogs are the same size as her!:D

Idun's favorite shows are Emergency Vets and any thing showing agility. Its histerical when she watches the weave poles, her head moving back and forth along with the dog on TV.:D :D :D
Last week, she searched the living room for 15 minutes looking for the puppies that were being delivered on Emergency Vets.:D :D :D

Kathy, that is so funny, but I have to say I agree - I love to hear the dogs howling... my four take cue from the male... when he hears a police siren or fire engine siren in the distance - he starts the howling and the other 3 join in the chorus...I love to hear it but I am sure my neighbors are not as thrilled

I see similar behavior from our male -- going behind the TV to try to "find" the animal.

My latest addition to the familiy -- a cat sits straight up and stares at the TV and has a look like she totally understands what she's watching.

I think the funniest story I have heard about animals & the TV is my friend's chiwawa (spelling?) who LOVES Little house on the prairie. She will stand on the remote, moving her feet around to change the channel until she sees Little House! Have you ever heard of anything so funny??
:D

Bella's two favorite movies are "101 Dalmations" and "Zeus and Roxanne", she loves the dolphin almost as much as the dog.

Mine must be either really stupid or really smart, because they don't pay any attention to the tv. The only time Mia has ever shown any interest in the tv was when we were watching Independence Day. So now I tell everyone that is her favorite movie. ;)
