Hi, Bigwright! I found a website and this is what thay had: Days Inn: A mostly pet friendly chain but also franchised so you need to check when you reserve. Motel 6: The most pet friendly chain with all 800-plus locations accepting most pets (except where prohibited by law). The manager does reserve the right to deny you however under certain guidelines. Pets under 25lbs are preferred and you should notify them if they are larger. Dogs should be leashed at all times outside the room and not left unattended inside the room. Red Roof Inns: Another pet friendly chain with more than 250 locations accepting most pets (except where prohibited by law). The manager does reserve the right to deny you however under certain guidelines. Dogs up to 80lbs are welcome. Dogs should be leashed at all times outside the room and not left unattended inside the room. Travelodge: Around 300 pet-friendly locations. Please check first. Four Seasons Hotels And Resorts: All locations accepts pets of 15lbs and under. Please check first. EZ8 Motels Inc: This chain accepts most pets (except where prohibited by law). The manager does reserve the right to deny you however under certain guidelines. Dogs should be leashed at all times outside the room and not left unattended inside the room. Loews: A very nice pet friendly chain but as always, check first for restrictions and limits. La Quinta Inns: This chain is very pet friendly but as always, check first for restrictions and limits

Any hotel/motel that accepts pets will be more liekly to accept them if you tell them the dog will be crated while you are sleepping or otherwise unable to watch the dog. Many will not allow you to leave the dog in the room while you go out for the day (no clue why) - just put the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door and make sure you or someone tells housekeeping not to go in the room-you don't need the bed made up while you're staying :) ...

There is a book, but I can't recall the name of it. www.Petswelcome.com is a decent website with a good search engine. I've never had difficulty finding a place to stay and sometimes I'm with 3 dogs. For simple overnight accomodation or show weekends I have pretty much come to rely on Motel 6 as they are everywhere! Day's Inn has nice accomodations and free sweet rolls in the morning.
