Holy moly! SO GLAD to hear your kids are home safe with you.

As for the grass eating, it might be a stress thing, might be to settle an upset tummy...my Ben had 'the runs' for a week and ate grass when outside more than he probably should have.

He never vomited, but instead he pooped the undigested grass. needless to say he was out on a leash for a few days until his back end lawn deopsits firmed up.

If the vet said they're OK, I'd venture a guess it's a combination of stress and an upset tummy...

As for the 'lawyer' who had the kids....call the local Better Busines Bureau with her name, try to find out if she IS in fact a lawyer, then report her...lawyers committing blackmail/extortion/dognapping....not a good thing...

THANK GOD YOUR KIDS ARE HOME!!

I am so glad you got your kids back I would hate to see there ad on missing and exploited children posters and flyers,
I bought my house (this is my third house) 10 years ago and my girls have never gotten loose or rather out, thank god but we did have some drifters (I call them) wandering through the woods up here(i live so desilated) in maine with no neighbors and they opened the gate to my yard and my girls sat there next to my back door like to say "no way Im not going out of the yard and getting lost in those there woods its scary" and they didnt leave the yard, I came out about 15 minutes later and they were just sitting there looking at me and the gate was wide open, how I found out was the guys were hanging around and I asked them if they opend the gate and they said yes, I said why did they do that they said I dont know but they did state that the dogs did not leave the yard I said I know they didnt! they wont. they have no desire to go anywhere. but to make a long story short these guys escaped from jail for little charges and were hanging around my property because no one would ever find them here, so I called the cops and they were picked up. but I dont EVER leave my children outside if Im not home or even all night when I am home. so In ten years I lived here they have never got out, or any place I ever lived they have never gotten out, and even if they did they would walk to the front yard and say let me in, lol

Put a good sturdy lock on your gates regardless of where you live. That protects the dogs from getting let out accidentally and it also protects someone from being bitten thinking they can enter the yard safely. (utility people or such or a child looking for a lost ball). Locks are not near as much trouble as a lost dog or a lawsuit from a dog bite. Any fence less than 6 foot is not adequate for a large dog. My dogs never exit through any of the yard gates. The only way they exit is through the front door and they know except for fetching the newspaper in the morning they must have their clothes (collars and leashes) on. No one saunters out the front door on their own and there is no exit from the fenced yard.
