Same thing with me regarding the crate in the living room situation. After about 4 years of it being in the living room and Sheena not using it for about a year - it was time to take it down. I was a bit nervous because it was like a safe place of her own. Sheena did not seem to like me taking it down either. So I put a blanket on the spot where her cage was. And you know she likes that much better. She still goes to that blanket and sleeps on it (her special spot). ;)

I love those e-trainers, but sure would not want to look at one everyday.

To use it, I have to go to the gym....if it was in the house, I would walk by it everyday.

It would become a place to throw my clothes on.

Put something in there that you both would like.

Knuckles outgrew his crate and, since we have a small house, we decided not to get another one, since he was never all that keen on being crated. We have gates up so he is confined to my son's room, the hallway and bathroom (where the cool time floor is!)when we go out. He has plenty of room to move around and play, and he is completely house broken at 8 months. I gave up on carpet a long time ago! Currently we only have 2 dogs and 4 cats! I say put the crate away if she doesn't need it.

After my puppies grew up they were never put into a crate again, I've never had a problem with it either. They are perfect little angels! :) Of course now they get to sleep on the couch!!!;)

When my 2nd rottie turned 10 months I put the crate away, but now with a new puppy it is back out,and my male rottie goes in there on his own when the puppy is not in there and just chills out,I feel sorta bad, maybe he misses it.
