Premier Pet Insurance

I just received notification from Premier Pet Insurance that they are no longer renewing Pet insurnace policies...

Can any one recommend a pretty good pet insurance plan - (other than USAPets) -

I found Premier pet insurance to be great, the premiums were low, they payed out 80% of claim ontime no hassles... I am hoping I can find one equal to if not better..

I hope someone can recommend a good company - as well all know - good insurance companies are hard to find :(

I made claims on any visit I took my dog to the vet for... and any treatment given... the good thing was they even covered accupuncture and holistic medicine... they were very good, pretty much got back the money from expenses incurred with my babies ;) - so now I have to find another one equally as good... that's a challenge in itself

how much was your premium? did you save money by paying for insurance? sounds weird to me. you pay monthly for ins. but may only go to the vet 4 or 5 times a year for vaccinations and certifications. how's it work? -kevin

believe me when you have 4 dogs you can prettymuch guarantee at some point you will be at the vet - it all mounts up. I only paid $10 a month per dog..

For all the med costs - it sure was worth it. My dogs go to a holistic vet - treatment is much more expensive than that of a traditional vet, but great if covered by insurance, they covered not only the initial visits and treatments but also all the follow up treatments... it was absolutely awesome... well worth it.

believe me - we have already joked about there in my family... I couldn't see how they were making money - well put it this way, they were not making any more out of me... ;)

Apparently the underwriters did not renew their policies. which is too bad.

Holistic is natural medicine. My vet practices chinese medicine, as well as alternative treatment. i.e. herbs, accupuncture, natural nutrition etc... he is wonderful.

I have veterinary pet insurance. They pay about 65% of the total claim bill. I have been looking elsewhere for a higher return, but everyone seems to be full.

After finding a lump which turned out to be a sebaceous cyst on my boy I knew worrying about the money wasn't worth it and decided to purchase the policy. I deffinitely think they are worth it. This year through hip x-rays, adequan shots, acupuncture (pd in full by me), stitches, and a bout with colitis, I have recieved the amount I paid into my policy back at least three fold.

They have 2 policies one for routine care (vaccs, fecals,HWT's) and another for emergencies. Both are worth it.

And.... They cover cats and exotics.... so your whole family could be insured.

Good luck. Jess

OH... www.vpi.com is vet pet insurance's site:)

Thanks for the heads up.... I use the same insurance and have been pleased w/ their payment plan... I was about to add my little puppy and now will look for another policy. They were a new company and they probably weren't making $$$$. My premium doubled after the first year and that wasn't b/c I had too many claims... I had used VPI before them, but they don't cover genetic problems like bad hips, etc....

I guess I'll start my search... my policy is up in January I believe. It sure would be nice if they'd let everyone know ahead of time... but they'd probably lose the paying customers...
