rompinrottie, this post wasn't even intended for you, it was for TrishB. I am sure you are a very responsible owner and if you see in my post I had quoted what Trish had written, I merely stated that I was concerned about the information you were given to try and scare someone off actually owning a Rottie. I fully agree with you in your efforts to try and convince these guys not to go out and get a pup they are not prepared for ;) I had no idea you are getting another rottie either!..lol anyway good luck with your new baby :D

In theory, I like Trish's approach as well. I spent a lot of time with Daisy training her. People who come over or when we take her places think she was just born well-behaved. A person like that would turn around, get a dog, do no training and be mad at the misbehaving dog! Next thing you know, from house, to backyard, to shelter. I've seen it with family members--it happens. If my family member had seen the behavior in an untrained dog, and seriously thought about the time and energy they would have to put in to get the kind of dog they want, they would have made a different decision. My husband and I ended up placing that dog with my in-laws, but the whole ordeal is a less than ideal situation.

My truly deepest apologys, :( I am very very sorry for assuming your post was directed at me, it is my ignorance and stupidity that misunderstood your post, :( I have had such a bad week and I have been so defensive and that is no excuse to aim my anger at anyone I really thought your post was directed at me, I really am so so sorry, you see rott-girl my MRI came back again positive for my brain tumor it has enlarged and I was very upset that I took it out on your post. once again please forgive my ignorance..
