I doubt it annoys him (unless it is you fussing about it) - he's not the one who has to vacuum! Shed - yes they do. A lot. Get used to it. soft fluffy hair is usually undercoat. Perfectly normal. If they didn't shed it out, they'd be matted in very short time. Brush, comb, brush comb and it still flies around the house. You will find so much you'd think they were going to be naked, but they never are. Most shed out in the fall getting themselves ready to grow a newer and better winter coat.

Bathe your dog about 1-2 times a year and that'll help some, too. Please don't bath more than that unless you have to. :)

A shedding blade works better than most regular combs or brushes (thanks marianne;) )

My lab sheds more than I thought possible. I thought the rott was bad, but I hadn't seen nothin' yet!

I agree the shedding blade works best,..and yes,we had a discussion on what to do with the hair as in stuffing pillows, etc,
Christmas is coming, make rag dolls, because in two days with 3 ,2 rotties and a dobe will make enough hair for many...Someone ask me how hair gets under the throw rugs,I just answered,it is everywhere, send a package it's on the tape, just something you have to learn to accept...and as judy said fall is comming and I pick globs up off of my rug,run the sweeper often, bagless for me...and look around and see more hair:),my girl stays outside on my porch most of the day,the older dobe and Baron(Rottie) won't leave me long enough to go outside...unless I go out,he's my Biggie boy.....anyone have any more ideas for the hair for crafts.....maybe stuff a comforter....:)

I posted a similar question a few weeks about with regards to my 12 month old female rottie. Wait it out.... all that baby hair has gone now - and her thicker darker softer coat is coming in... I was worried I thought she had a medical problem... but now its looking awesome... its just a puppy thing.
