Stolen dog

North East Rottweiler Rescue Dog stolen from foster home

Spayed female Rottweiler known as Koda ( also comes to Ruby or Lottie) was removed from her foster home in Massachussetts, by a person impersonating an NERR&R transport driver. Since Koda is tattoed and registered with the National Dog Registry as an NERR dog, this unauthorized removal is considered a criminal offense that could result in felony charges.

Koda was born 9/25/01 and is tattoo'd with a number and the letters NERR NDR (this tattoo "may" have been altered).

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of this dog please contact NERR&R at nerescue@rottrescue.org or call toll free 1-866-392-0102 wait til the end of the message and leave your message on the general mailbox

Many thanks from The NERR&R Board of Directors and volunteers

Frontierrots,

You may want to check around your area a bit and see if any other Rotts or Pits have "disappeared". There was a rash of Pit and Rott thefts around here awhile back, apparently for dog fighting. Dogs came up missing from private homes and the Humane Society, all Rotts, Pits and crosses, and none were ever found, so much was speculated upon, and nothing proved.

further info

Koda was back in foster care because she sent her adoptive mom to the hospital with a full bite. Koda was supposed to serve her 10 day in house quarantine and then be euthanised. The person who stole her is probably under the mistaken impression that they are "saving" her. Instead they have violated criminal law (stealing a tattoo'd animal, impersonating someone) and have put other people at risk for being bitten

Putting other people at risk is certainly something to worry about, but the person that stole Koda pretty much deserves what they get.

This is most upsetting and I sure hope that they find them soon.

She does need to euthanised asap...

How is the foster Mother doing?

Please tell her that we are thinking about her!:(

Oh no, this is even worse... I wish they could understand if they did think they were helping her, they are not...:( :( I am sorry to hear of her unfortunate situation...she needs to be put to rest and end her suffering and we sure don't want her to cause any more, as a result of this occurrence... such a sad situation... :(
