They say that you measure from the ground to the withers.

The Whither is at the point where the shoulder blades meet. Find that point and measure from the floor.

Perpendicular from that point that Orville describes. Where the paws are depends upon the front angulation.

Hi mijpa !

I use 2 yardsticks when I measure Luna (or 1 yardstick and another straight piece of material). I put one across her withers and hold it level and then stand the yardstick straight up next to her just in front of the one across her withers. Makes it really easy to see the measurement. You could also stand him next to a wall, lay one piece level across his withers and mark the wall, then use a tape measure. If he's squirmy, have someone hold him while you do it. :)

measuring

thanks you all for the info. this monday the 12th he will be 1 year old.he is currently 26 and 1/4" tall and he weighed in yesterday at 86lbs. i hear allot of people say that a rottie gets his full height the 1st year and the next 2 he puts on bulk/weight.if this is true i'm guessing that he will way about what his daddy weighed 125lbs. at his current size where do you think he {moto} is and or will be on the size chart at maturity? he is the best dog i have ever had and we get aton of compliments on his appearence i will {GOD willing} always own a rottweiler!
