hello

I use the giant beds that have the 4 inch foam in them, or you can make your own, that way you can make it as large as you like with all kinds of cool designs
but my girls sleep with me anyways so there beds are not really used much unless they take a nap during the day, :o
but like I said I do use the 4 inch thick just to keep them off the floor especially during the winter months when they take a nap Im so afraid of them getting a cold, my house is always chilly and the floors are so very cold...brrrr..
good luck to you..

I got a bed with the foam underneath and a wool like covering for the bottom of Birdie's crate - not such a smart idea for a crate! I came home from work one day and the foam was shredded to pieces all over the crate and around it! Lesson learned! The remaining foam was thrown out. I stuffed the material that was covering the foam with some old blanets and now have that in the bottom of the crate. She loves it! This way she can make it into whatever shape she feels comfortable with!

The best I found was a nice Queen sized Ralph Lauren comfortor folded two times. Its nice because I throw it in the washer weekly.:D

It is what she prefers. Although my leather chair is what she goes for when I am not home;)

I am not sure that you have a "Costco" (used to be called the Price Club) where you live, but I think that they are nation wide?? I have always purchased my dog beds there. They are great quality, made of cedar chips and foam, and they have a zip away cover so that you can wash it. I just purchased one today for Kodi (1 1/2 year old male, 100 pounds) and it is plenty big for him.

Good luck with your search!:)

My girl had three beds. The first was a queen sized, filled comforter that was folded and placed in her crate. She could move it out of the way when she didn't want to lie on it, or shape it into whatever was comfy and we could easily wash it once a week (she was a seeper).

The second was a fleece & fabric covered orthopedic bed with egg crate foam inside which stayed in the living room so that she had a place of her own when she wasn't trying to sneak onto the couch :) The cover zipped off for washing but the bed in it's entirety could be thrown in the washer (and dryer). This one came from BJs and cost about 20$.

The third was whatever pile of my clothing she could find on the floor of the bedroom to nap on :D

Thanks for all the responses. I ended up getting him a nice round 54 " bed from petsmart. They got some in and the lining can be washed easily and the stuffing you can buy replacement stuff when it wears out. Duque loves it and won't lay down without it! He drags it everywhere. Thanks once again.

best place for beds!

I buy Shea's beds from a mail order place called Sportsman's Guide www.sportsmansguide.com You can get a 54" bed for as little as $19.99 and they are very nice. Foam padding with cedar chips mixed in and zippered liners. Very durable, stain-resistant covers that come in many designs and colors too. Shipping for a rottie sized bed cost me $7.
