| Dogs are not humans That depends greatly on the individual temperament of the dog. If the dog is dominant by nature, allowing this dog to sleep in your bed will elevate the pack status of the dog and could develop dominant aggression problems. In the other hand, if the dog is submissive (a trait I don't expect in a well-bred Rottweiler), then you may let this dog to sleep in your bed (OPTIONAL). However, at a personal level, I don't feel comfortable sleeping with a large dog in my bed. In fact, a recent scientific study revealed that 58% of dog owners that allow their dogs to sleep with them suffered from mild to severe sleeping disorders... So my dogs are OFF my bed. Always! ;) |

He didn't until hubby moved here for work and I lagged behind for a few months. It was a cold winter and Payton was a great heating blanket. Now my husband invites him to bed everynight and then say "he'll get down in a few minutes it's hot for him up here" HA! At 3am there's Payton snoring, though that's hard to hear over the hubby's;) , away. I love it though it doesn't bother me in the least. |

| I love my dog very, very much! But I may love nice clean sheets even more;) Dog hair in my bed is just...ugh. Also, I followed all the "rules" of establishing order in my home with this boy and have seen no reason to change them. One point my trainer made; until your dog is as obedient as you want him to be, he should not be on furniture, period. Just my thoughts, but hey, more power to those who enjoy hairy, slobbery bed hogs :D :D

| I just think having a large dog in itself is reason enough not to let them sleep with you. I don't and will not ever let my dog sleep with me. This is just my personal preference. And, I would never let it sleep with me if it had issues. I, am the Master, he is the dog!:)

| No, Sheena sleeps on her blanket which is on the floor next to the bed. Only in a blue moon is she allowed to jump up onto the bed for a very short time. I'm afraid she will hurt her legs or shoulders jumping down - bed is high. I think every dog should have a special place of their own to sleep. :)

| Just curious German, how would a dog create a sleeping disorder in a human? Besides the obvious, the dog is too large and hogs the bed. :) I was thinking on the terms of a dog (animal in general) helps a person with depression, mood swings etc. therefore having one in bed with them would make it a more relaxed feeling and do just the opposite, make them sleep. What am I missing in your statement? To answer the orginal question, yes we let Reba up when we say it's ok. We have a king size bed (thank goodness). Sensi doesn't like the bed. He may come up now and then just for a snuggle, then off he goes. If it was my departed T-bone, I say no way......he was very dominate in nature and we would just be looking for trouble if we let him up. He had to be reminded now and then who was Alpha and it wasn't him! JoJo |

| Both our Rotties sleep on the bed :D Logan normally gets on the bed first and when the light goes out then Flame will come over for her invitation to join us. It's even been know for my partner to vacate his side of the bed , like when Flame came back from having eye surgery and was still half doped with her big funnel collar on.All in all there well behaved and hardly ever move from their positions through the night, unless it's cold then somehow they manage to get under the duvet . |

| Thank you German, now you just described my SO!!! :D :D Yes that is a very simple answer and one that makes sense. But I still think that in "some" cases, an animal in bed with someone helps them "relax". JMO I guess I would have been in that 42% catagory. :) But personally, I'll take the SO over the dogs anytime of the week. ;) JoJo |

| These are our rules on dogs in bed. If I wanna snuggle with the other human.OFF YOUR BED NOW...:D If she hesitates or gives to much beef she just lost bed privledges till I get over my concern she tested me. If I walk in the room and for no reason other then I said off, which I do often and she hesitates, Again..better kiss my behind a few weeks. You peepee, or chew anything on my bed after the age of knowing better....well you may be a seniour before you see the bed again. If you growl or nip when you are told move on off, again it will be pretty long before allowed again. As far as sleeping dissorders go..if you wake me up more then once after I fall asleep......NIGHTY NIGHT TO *YOUR BED* YOU GO.....:D

| I have three big dogs. Two love the bed but there isn't enough room for everyone so most nights no dogs allowed. One night this past week it was finally in the fifties and we had the whole house fan running which meant it got pretty chilly in the house, too. The old Doberman, Tara, gets cold very easily now and the rottie was already on the bed hogging all the dog space. So Tara solved her own problem - I woke up to find her next to my side of the bed curled up INSIDE a laundry basket full of sheets. I wish I'd had film in the camera! :D |

| yes,Little Leah sleeps with me and really never bothers me at all,I'm sure I bother her more!!!she lays still all night,I might tell her to move her Butt when I get in bed,but after that she is asleep, hardly ever moves around, now I toss and turn all night!!! she doesn't let out a "peep" unless she hears something outside(probably a critter, here in the country) ,then she lays in her bed by the window...but other times lays on the floor by my bed...Once she gets down, doesn't get back up...I have asthma and if I have trouble breathing ,she wakes me up!!Thank God for her...My Big Leah did the same,in the morning when my Son goes to work,Baron comes over for the day and sleeps on the floor in my room also,he is not a Bed Dog at all, never has been...Yup,Leah has a bed as long as she can still get up on it...maybe I'll build her a ramp.... Hey Bucky's Mom you are so ornery(,make me laugh so much)you are right on the ball,,,,Teena, you described alot of hubbys!!!!!!:) :)The more I remember hubby the more I appreciate Leah!!!!!what a nice companion,Love her so much....I completed a course in Nursing continuing ed. recently and It was called "Creature Comfort" about Dogs ,cats, horses even Dolphins, these creatures are soooo good for us,Blood pressure and as Jo Jo said, depression etc,GOTTA LOVE "EM,"" Lets go nighty""
