| Muzzle that fits?! Anyone have recommendations for a muzzle that will fit properly? I have tried three brands, and if they fit around the snout properly they are too long. Maybe something specifically for rotts and similar breeds?

| Look for the nylon velcro ones. Since he will only be wearing it under supervision, you can tell him "no" if he starts messing with it, but they are quite adjustable and one of those should do. PS. Take him with you to try them on. I'll look through my catalogs and see if I can spot the kind you need. |

| Since I'm not very familiar, is this the kind you mean? They have these for about $3.00 at my local store. velcro muzzle This is the type I was trying, with no luck: full muzzle I thought the second kind would be better because it allows for panting, drinking and even small treats. But if I can adjust the velcro type, I suppose it would allow for those things too.

| I got a great muzzle from Dr. Foster's and Smith. It is nylon and has a clip to close. I don't know what kind exactly you are looking for but this one leaves the mouth uncovered so panting and treats are possible but no big movements. It is adjustable for the head and comes in different sizes. Nice and short for a short Rottie snout. My Rottie doesn't mind wearing it at all. I don't have the style # because I am at work. I will try to remember to look tonight. |

| Jamie, the velcro muzzle is the best bet, they come in large and extra large at Petsmart, that is where we had gotten ours last year.....but you could get one just about anywhere, but if you can take Odin, or at least measure him, I am sure he needs a larger one, have you also tried your local vet? We had the muzzle on Zeke last year, and he would have otherwise bitten a couple of people. :( It was a big help.... Good luck. :) |

| The muzzle I have seen used on herding dogs that get a bit too enthusiastic in the gripping is what is called a coursing muzzle. It has a plastic basket that covers the muzzle. The basket has holes allowing the dog to pant and breath easily, but it covers the entire muzzle so that no biting at all can occur. |
