| Another Rotty bad rap Well it's finally happened in my neck of the woods. Seems a 70 year old man was delivering phone books door-to-door when he was attacked by 2 rottys. Not posted in the story is how the man entered the back yard to drop off the phone book and how he didn't think twice of the clearly posted "beware of dogs" signs. I heard this morning that the man passed away from his injuries, that's the sad part. The owner of the dogs has been ticketed and he still has his dogs. His only violation being that one of the rottys was a month behind in updating his shots. The owner even went as far as installing the invisible fence system, you know the one with the radio collar on the dog so he won't exceed his boundaries, IN ADDITION, to the chain link fence surrounding his property. What was that delivery man thinking? He could have left them by the mail box. Why did he go into the back yard and not go to the front door? This whole thing makes me sick inside and sounds a little shady to me.

| That's very sad Hi Vivianne, if the story you're telling is correct then what more can an owner do ?? I don't get it, why would anyone take the chance of entering a property with rottweilers if signs are posted and why wasen't that part in the paper? In addition to other signs on my property I have "NO Trespassing" as well and I'll tell ya one thing, young, old, whatever, there's no one in their right mind, a stranger, that would try to enter my property with Czar out . Most people can't even look at him, he can be quite intimidating when it comes to protecting our property. I'm speaking of strangers that is. Are you sure this man didn't know the dogs? I'm saddened by this poor souls death but if he did indeed enter a yard clearly marked then I don't know what else to say. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family:(. Even though my dad loves Czar he made a point to tell me that Rottweilers were no. 1 on the most dangerous breed list, even over the pits . This is very very sad!Judy |

| Re: That's very sad Sorry for not posting where you can read the info on the story. I was just to upset. You can find the story here: www.nbc-2.com The article titled: Man attacked by Rottweilers I was watching the footage on tv and I could clearly see the beware of dog signs and radio collars on the dogs. They don't print that part 'cause it doesn't sell papers. I'm pretty sure he didn't know the dogs. The Rottweiler owner was interviewed in the same segment and he said, he and his wife were very sorry about the whole thing and they were on their way to the hospital to visit the man. Also not in the papers, but I heard him say it myself. It truly is a said situation, but for once the owner and the dogs aren't the persecuted.

| OMG I was sadden by that video tape, and I am sadden by a death, but it seems the owner was doing his job to keep the neighborhood safe. And oh before I forget did you see the little clip at the end of the article stating that a Yorkie was attached and killed by 2 Pit Bulls go figure. |

| Hi ReneeRoberson Yes, I did see the clip about the Pit Bulls. Ever since there was a news story about the ban on pit bulls in Dade County (Miami, Florida) there is a bad feeling about pit bulls state wide, sad to say. :( Funny there was a local shark bite incident yesterday as well. That didn't get nearly the same press.
