The USRC & Homeowner's Insurance..Please Read!

I've recently found myself in the same boat as many others who own Rottweilers, by being declined for homeowner's insurance based solely on the word "Rottweiler". Any discussion of "Socialized", "Trained", "Responsibly Owned", promptly evaporated as soon as the word "Rottweiler" appeared. In the insurance company's eyes, the breed of dog I own has a much greater bearing on whether I am a good risk than whether I am conscientious in my ownership or whether the dog has ANY social skills or training at all.

In my search for a company that would insure me, one of the organizations I wrote to was the USRC. I received an ANGEL of an email this morning and they have given me permission to post it here. I am told that Mr. Mueller is VERY proactive and if there is anyone that can get legislation going to prevent the denial of coverage based on breed discrimination, this is the man that can get that ball rolling .

If you have been denied coverage for homeowner's insurance because you own a Rottweiler, please, PLEASE take the time to respond to Mr. Mueller's request:
