pet hair and vacuum cleaner

I am in the market for a new vacuum cleaner and I was wondering if anyone could suggest some models that perform well when dealing with pet hair. I only have one rottie and no other animals, but he still sheds quite a bit. I don't want to spend more than I have to, but I am willing to pay for something that will hold up and pick up well. All suggestions are appreciated!

I don't think the brand matters as much as the power.... I have a 12 amp Eureak with adjustable height and it works great.... I think you need at least 12 amps to get that rottie hair....

I have a Hoover Windtunnel that works well. But the most effective thing I do is to take Luna outside and give her a good puppy massage with a grooming mitt 2-3 times a week. :)
