A Rottweiler should weigh a healthy weight. Each dog in an individual and must be assessed on their own merits. Rottweilers grow for the first year and a half of their lives and fill out (gain muscle) up until they are 3 or even 4!

He's 36kg (80lbs) now. Your veterinarian would be the best bet to tell you if your dog is at a healthy weight for him.

Answering your question is as difficult to answer How much should a woman weigh?

You should easily be able to feel your dog's spine and ribs thru a *thin* layer of fat. If you're poking & prodding & prodding & poking & aren't sure what you feel, your dog is too fat.

When you stand over your dog and look down, you should *clearly* see that your dog has a waist. If you see a solid block from shoulders to hips, again, your dog is too fat.

It's much healthier to have a leaner dog than a fatter dog.
