I live in Severn MD - I was looking for something - maybe like advanced rottweiler (specific) training - or a rottie club I could join, or anyone who is interested in gettiing to gether to start a rottie rescue in this area... I have worked with NoVa rottie rescue - but as they are in Kensington MD its a little far... anyway, any information anyone could give me would be very much appreciated.

I look forward to hearing back from you soon.

Janet

I know that there is a Rottie-specific Schutzhund group which meets around Severna Park. I tried to contact them about a trial they were having in the fall, but had no luck. I found out about them from Rottweiler Quarterly.

Don't forget our Rottstock which is coming up in August. We are hoping to one of the state parks along 301 as a site.

rottstock...

Please e-mail me some information regarding Rottstock... I have no idea what that is... I would be interested in obtaining some more information.

I have 4 rotties - all rescues - my last one a 7 month old pup. I think she is "perfect" in every way - and was a "dream to train - she was so attentive... I wanted to progress obedience further with her.... but would like to know of some really good obedience trial schools...

Has anyone in MD ever had their rottie trained at Noah's Ark? just wondered - if you received the same attitude I received i.e. the trainer - told me that she HATED it when rotties were in her class as she does not trust them and fears them greatly, not only did she tell me that, but she made it clear to the class too. needless to say - during our socialization time, everyone withdrew their dogs from my wonderful little girl...

Hi joquendo,

I looked on the profile for an email address and don't see one. So here's about Rottstock.

Last summer, in several locations across the country there were Rottstocks-- get togethers of Rottweiler.net members, dogs and family members. The purpose of these is to spread the word about Rotties, to raise money for Rottrescue, AND to meet the folks we communicate with but rarely have to opportunity to meet.

Last year the closest to MD were in upstate New York, and Richmond VA. This year it seemed that we needed to draw from a greater number of members--hence MidAtlantic. We will be more centrally located in MD instead of VA.

We have food sign up, bring grills (or use those provided), walk dogs, talk them for a swim, get to know each other. At some venues I understand members do temperment testing and CGC testing. To use poor English "A great time is had by all"!!

Someone made up t-shirts last year as a fundraiser of course. I think one Rottstock set up an agility course.

The sky's the limit. Folks can have fun as they like. Please plan to join us!! We are still in the planning stages, but will post news often.

I would appreciate it if members keep Topics on track. IF members want to discuss other events, problems, or have questions relating to a different Topic, please start a new Thread in our many other specific forums. Thank you.
