Update on cat attack last summer

Hi Everyone,
I don't know how many of you remember, but a lot of you responded when I wrote about Babe being attacked by a cat last summer. I was walking Babe on her leash and a cat came out of a yard and attacked her. She developed a bad infection and couldn't walk. The vet bills were pretty high, and the owner of the cat was a jerk about the whole thing. Does that refresh your memory? Well anyway, I just wanted you all to know that I am taking the owner of the cat to small claims court on February 28th. I will let you know how we make out. By the way, Babe is doing fine.

I remember the post... And I wish you the best of luck in court. Cats don't belong outside, for the saftey of themselves, wild life and unsuspecting puppydogs.. I'm glad to hear Babe is ok. Let us know how you make out...

I remember when this was going on. As a matter of fact I was just thinking about it a week ago, wondering if it had been settled yet. I'm happy that Babe is ok. I wish you luch and will keep my fingers crossed that you win in court. It is hard to believe that it has to go this far but the owner of the cat really sounds like a jerk. Not only are they not taking care of their pet by letting it out, but they are not living up to the responsibility of having a pet.

Best of luck to you and Babe. Glad to hear she is feeling better. I do remember the story. And do believe you had also tried the nice way to get the owner of the cat to be responsible and do the right thing, but that doesn't always work out.

Don't get me wrong, I feel for you and your poor dog. I know how nasty cats can be! (I am a Vet tech) and I know that they can inflict some very nasty injuries. (got scars)

I just want to say, don't be surprised if your case ends up on the news...and I almost hope that it does. Think about it. Alot of people think that Rottweilers are evil viscious killing machines, that can more than take care of a little cat with one paw tied behind thier back. Haha. So this could actually be good publisity for Rotties!

We know the truth though don't we? I hope you get to hit that irresponsible sack of crap cat "owner" right in the wallet. I hope the Judge grants you all that you and poor Babe deserve.

glad to hear babe's okay. maybe see if you can get someone from the local humane society to assist in your presentation and offer up some cat statistics, i.e, numbers euthanized annually, spay neuter numbers, possible danger to humans (children) ect.
take it to em. us poor defenseless rotti owners are counting on you.

The guy from animal control has been fantastic. He wrote up an unbelievable report and included the statements of two witnesses. He also stated that the cat's owner was very uncooperative. He said that if he was available, he would go to court that day. My vet also volunteered to write a report about Babe's injuries.
