Welcome to Conformation Rottweilers!

"Conformation" may sound mysterious, but it's something every dog has. Conformation represents the inherent structure of a dog and, in conjunction with breed type, embraces the unique qualities of a dog that make it recognizable to us as a breed. A Rottweiler that exemplifies the breed standard and manifests type is a beautiful dog, but conformation consists of, as it should, more than just a pleasing appearance. The Rottweiler is a working dog, versatile in his abilities and devoted in his demeanor. The breed standard by which conformation is judged seeks to retain the beauty of the dog, and just as importantly, it seeks to retain the stable, intelligent temperament; the substance in character; and the sturdiness to participate with soundness in any one of a wide range of suitable activities, from the work of his ancestors to the sports venues of today. Good conformation, inclusive of the breed standard, gives a Rottweiler what he needs to reach his potential. The only other thing he needs is you.

In this forum we talk about all things conformation. Whether you show to confirm your breeding stock, show just because it's FUN, or don't show at all and are interested in learning more about conformation, this is the forum for you. You can find out more about the breed standard, discover shows in your area, discuss problems you may be having preparing your dog to show or ways to improve your show ring performance....and not only that.....you can BRAG, too!!!

We have set up a Show Brags sub-forum for posting your show ring achievements and well-deserved congratulations. You may use the attachment feature (no links) to post the judge's photo in this section of the forum. The judge's photo is the official photo of the show results should your dog earn a rosette, ribbon, trophy.

Just as in all the Rottweiler forums, extraneous chit chat will be removed.
