Icon5 Help!! 7 mos. old puppy too low on paws?

Breeder wants to show him, but says he is too flat footed-only flaw. He suggests vit C and keeping nails shorter. Any other suggestions? Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you have a dog run, put river rock in it and keep him on it for a couple hours a day, it will build muscle in his feet and they will look lots better. Vit C will also help and his nails need to be kept short.

Re: Help!! 7 mos. old puppy too low on paws?

Definitely the more he walks on gravel the better and also if you aren't already.....feed him from an elevated bowl.

I noticed that my young bitch as she was growing in height suddenly one day appeared to be splayed in her toes. I switched her immediately to elevated feeding.....her bowl is now at about a height of 18-20" off the floor......she definitely has to stretch a bit to eat and it has made a world of difference in terms of how tight her feet are.

However another thing that I would ask your breeder if I were you was how tight the feet are in her line....I have seen some lines that regardless of what is done the toes remain fairly splayed and others that have naturally nice tight feet.

Hope this helps!

Try feeding EaglePack food, it has the right amount of fat and protein. My pup's feet were splayed and he was low on pasterns and he came back to norm after a month on it.
