Re: white patch on chest and tips of paws on my rott pup

You have a very cute puppy! With those short ears and fat face, he kinda looks like a Shar-Pei mix (I am not an expert, so don't hold me to it ).

Can you post a full body shot?

Re: white patch on chest and tips of paws on my rott pup

For you Canadians:

What's the CKC equivilent of the AKC's ILP??

If the poster's dog looks enough like a Rottie, he or she could get the CKC's equivilent of ILP and have a blast showing the dog in performance events.

I gotta believe the CKC club permits unpapered dogs to be shown--so the OP can show the dog if he or she wishes. Just not in conformation.

I'm glad this was brought up. What is an ILP and how can I get one?

Lexi thinks she's a cat and I think would do very well in agility or tracking. Her nose is glued to the ground when I ask her to find her ball or bone or whatever and doesn't leave the ground until she's found it.
She is a wonderful girl and is a very confident, intelligent dog. I'd like her to get her CGC before we do anything but I have been curious about this ILP and how that works...?

Many thanks in advance,
Ailee

Re: white patch on chest and tips of paws on my rott pup

PEN Number is a Performance Event Number - I believe that the processing in registering a dog for a PEN Number is pretty much the same!

All of the information is on the Canadian Kennel Club site under On-line forms.

And, I'm glad you asked!

ILP = indefinite listing privilege (nka Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP)) gives owners of PB dogs who don't have papers ability to compete in AKC sanctioned performance events.

I got ILP for the bitch we adopted thru a rescue program. I gave her a fancy name, took the required pix of her, filled out the form, enclosed a copy of her spay cert, and sent in the check. A few weeks later, the AKC sent me back a form with her ILP. With this number I register Mox and compete with her in various AKC performance events.

Thanks AngelBunny!

Even though she lacks markings and may or may not be PB??

It's funny, she displays more classic Rott than my black & tan!

If she looks close enough, the AKC won't quibble.

Save your money and don't bother with the DNA test. Though your puppy is very cute...it's a mix. Some other dog must have gotten to the mother dog also. Two dogs can breed the same female and produce puppies in the litter.

Since your pup is not registered and you bought him from a BYB....just enjoy him, and do activities with him where mix breeds are allowed...such as getting his CGN and herding, agility, flyball, schutzhund, etc.

I honestly don't think he could even get a PEN number on this pup.
